Belcher Bits Links to other Website Resources

The following links will take you to sites that I find interesting, home pages of people and organisations that I support and products that I have used and recommend. I hope you enjoy the ride.

IPMS Canada

Home page for International Plastic Modellers Society of Canada. Even if I weren't the editor of the publication RT, I would still recommend looking into IPMS. RT is one of the best sources for Canadian modelling information.

IPMS Ottawa

My local club. We meet first Wednesday of every month at the National Museum of Science and Technology, lie about our models and then drink beer (pretty typical IPMS club, I believe).

IPMS Buzz Beurling

One of the best examples of a club site. The guys at Buzz Beurling have a great combination of historical information, modelling articles and manufacturer and retailer information. Brian Macnamara has put a lot of time into this site and I appreciate the effort.

Tony Matteliano's Scale Models Index

Basically, every website about modelling and related subjects is here. Really.

Sherline Machinery

I bought one of their lathes last year, and am very pleased with it. It is small, but well designed and built. No more turning stuff chucked into a drill and held in my lap! Check out their site and see the wide variety of accessories available for their small lathes and mills.

TV Batmobile Site

OK, the acting was hokey, but the car was neat. This site has lots of good info for those who want to model the one true Batmobile!

Igor Sikorsky Historical Archives

If you're a fan of rotary wings, read up on the father of the modern helicopter.

The Parts Yard

If you've ever needed a replacement part for a kit, or some extra parts for a conversion project, check out member Jean-Marc Perrault's PARTS YARD project. It's also a great way to get rid of all those extra parts you have sitting gathering dust. Jean-Marc also has a list of kits for sale that he will e-mail you if you request. BTW, Jean-Marc is an excellent modeller with no fear; he has even built an ID Models Constellation in 1/48, no mean feat.

Canadian Aircraft Carriers

A labour-of-love site on Canada's five aircraft carriers. More information than you would have thought possible on a relatively obscure subject. If you are a fan of RCN and naval aviation, look here.
